As you know there are still a lot of places below poverty line in Yunnan province, we will arrange at least 4 times Nonprofit Cycling Tours in Yunnan and the other undeveloped areas in China to help you know more about China in 2009. The landscapes and ethnic minority cultures of these places are very impressive but the people are very poor. Normally they are living in the mountainous areas and very far away from the city. Some of old people living in these places have never been out of their villages and towns. Nonprofit Cycling Tours mean that all the profit will be donated to the local NGOs or Schools to support the projects and Hope Schools in the name of the participants.
In 2009, we hope we can arrange 4 times cycling trips in these places and fundraise at least $5000 to help them. Now we have 3 places to visit, one is an undeveloped countryside village called Daxi in Eshan county, Yuxi City, Yunnan, the annual income of a farmer is under $150; and the other one is a Hope Elementary School named Dazu School supported by a kind old man from Taiwan nearby Lugu Lake. The last one is in Yuanyang county, in the south part of Yunnan which is famous for it Great Rice Terrace.
